Well, interesting weekend
This weekend was an odd one. For the first time in a good 2 or 3 years we had a car show and didn't do ANYTHING for the car in terms of making the mad dash to get something cleaned or put the last few touches on something before the show. And it was pretty damn nice =)
Saturday, god decided to make it 119º out so what did we do? Hang out on a black parking lot at NGP's open house in Lorton. The heat was too much so Kate and I took off to go home and nap and get out of the heat. On the way home, Virginia's finest nabbed me on the tollroad and gave me yet another ticket while driving Dara. Oh well. Gotta seriously stop driving too fast. Live and l... whatever. haha
Saturday night we decided to whore out Roxy for the carshow so I laid out some painters tape and cut out the URL for the hood. Who needs a vinyl sticker cutter right?
Sunday we woke up bright and early to head out to the show where it was 154º out yet again. The show was calm and relaxing albeit the intense heat but all in all, it was a fun day. Got to meet some fans of the blog which was nice (Hi Will *waves*) and we even saw a Golf Country! (and a crappy repro Spyder which was being sold for waaaay too much haha) I picked up a sweet fuel gauge from a 57 Speedster which I'll have to make use for in Roxy some how =) We covered the windows with newspaper just so no one could peek in to give it some showman flair to build anticipation haha
Monday was spent being lazy, saw a movie with kate, moped around the house and finally decided to go grab some food late in the day where I got ANOTHER ticket for no front plate in Roxy. He tried to give me a ticket for the europlate (even though it was 30 years old and from S. Korea), ride height (which was legal), no turns (had to explain they were in the air ducts) as well as my yellow laminex (it was day time hence being legal) but I held my ground and defended each and every little thing he was trying to get me for and got off with a warning for everything but the plate. Fucking cops and holiday weekends =(
I went home pissed off yet again and chalked it up to the old addage "you gotta pay to play" and just decided to call it a day. I got really bored around 6 so I decided to re-cover the interior pillars YET AGAIN and shot some pics along the way. For those of you who missed it, the pillars were covered in green months ago but kate and I decided to make everything black on the interior as to not add too many colours to the interior.
Yeah I know, it was hard to strip these hahaha
Trust me, they're green...

I shed a little tear doing this.

Decided to shave the seatbelt holes while I was there

Viola, two hours later and I was done, hopefully for the last time being how this is the third time I've done this.
