Well, that kind of sucks
Hey all, update time. I got a call at work yesterday from my "financial advisor" (read: debt fixer person) and it was kind of suggested that I clear up an issue with one of my last outstanding student loans post haste. What does that have to do with cars you ask? Well, the clearing up cost me close to $2700 bucks. Yeah... I was pretty much nauseated for the rest for the rest of the day after writing that check.
That being said, the kicker of it all was that I ordered my turbo kit on friday. Thank christ the man I ordered from couldn't get to it because that would have put me up shits creek with no paddle in sight. So, suffice it to say, the buildup of Roxy is now being put on hold indefinately.
Why? Well, here goes...
Right now, she only needs the following to be finished:
- paint (requires new window and seals plus materials to be paid for)
- engine swap (will need fluids and random stuff to complete plus I want to pay my friend for his time)
The biggest lesson I have learned with this project is that EVERYTHING is connected. Yes, the turbo would be nice buuut if I get a turbo, it would behoove me to put the turbo on while the engine is being swapped. And you can't really swap the engine until the turbo kit is ordered. And you can't paint a car without painting the bay and you can't paint a bay until the engine is out. Get it?
So the best option I have now is to just sit and wait. Sure it sucks because right now I have a wet sanded car sitting in my driveway so something has to be done soon or the car will be a pile of rust after a few good rainstorms.
Hopefully I can pickup some emergency freelance to get some extra funds but for right now, no more cash will be spent on Roxy as I need to set aside all of my available cash for the purchase of a house.
Sometimes it sucks making adult decisions but I'm sure you will all agree that this is the right one being made. Better to be unstressed than to go into debt and worry about money I suppose.

sucks to hear man but if it has to happen, let it happen. Never go into debt to far for a car, unless your just paying for it.
good luck man, let us know wen its kicking back into gear...

Sucks to hear but live an learn an it seems like you are doing just that.
I am sure the project will be back on track soon enough. I will still check for updates since this is the "calm before the storm" :) :) .. For now I say throw a tarp on Roxie an tell her she will be loved again once she can be loved the right way.
GoodLuck I personally know what it is like to have a "financial advisor" and how all free funds go to correcting your past.

I am glad to hear your getting everything taken care of. I am upset about the "pause" on the project, but I am also glad to hear you are taking care of things. If you need any help with anything, I am in Ashburn. Mehr_PSI
