Jason just rang me up and said the VR was losing pressure in one of the cylinders causing the mysterious pressure issue.
Headgasket.
Oh well. Maybe next year folks. Anyone know of a cheap/good (like those two belong together right?) mechanic that can do it in a timely fashion? Trying to make H20 but I won't push it if it cant be done within my budget/timeline of course.

why doesnt ur mechanic jason do the headgasket job? and why did it take him so long to figure out that was the problem in the first place?

To be honest, he's just guessing that it is that but after calling all of his network of friends, we both agree that a bad hg could probably be the issue. He's spent the past week+ trying to fit me in and figure out the issue but to be fair, he was under the impression that Roxy would return within a week or less to be finished once painted but we all know how that turned out... Roxy was never meant to drive around for so long without being buttoned up. And yeah, the engine should have been pressure tested in the beginning but it's an oversight that (I don't count because I know nothing about engines and am a n00b) should have been done but it wasn't. Past is past and I don't want to linger on it. It was MY fault in the end for taking a risk and pushing to buy the donor jetta from a shady dealer in the first place. I took a risk and it didn't really pan out but bygones etc etc.
As for him doing the gasket, he is more than capable as well as willing but the time table is just not in the stars for he has WAY too much on his plate trying to help out the rest of our little group of friends get ready for H20. I've monopolized enough of his valuable time already and it just isn't fair to him. Plus, if I was him I would be sick as fuck at looking at Roxy for this long anyways hahaha
But, as kate has beat into me, I'm trying to stay positive and it looks like it should be solved fairly soon and everyone will be happy. He has had nothing but awesome things to say about ray and we will see if he's right.
