Ok so updates

So, this update will contain no pictures because I am quite positive Kate has stolen the camera she gave to me as a present (damnit woman!) so it's all going to be semi-descriptive paragraphs that I hope you all have the power to imagine with great detail.

1. so the fuel tank/sub box needed some lines and I'm cheap and can't afford ansi lines or whatever they're called so I went to depot and bought some braided lines for a gas grill at $4 per and they look pretty damn close to professional ones (that actually deliver fuel instead of bass). I ran them to my fuel pump cover so they sort of look legit now. Cool.

2. door cards are done and thanks to Kate, I found some door edging for trucks that are like 4' long and lined the edges of the panels to clean them up a lot. They look DOPE now.

3. the door cards haven't been installed yet because of many reasons. A) I don't want to cut holes for a window switch, mirror switch (which I think I won't even use because power mirrors are for chumps) and an alarm LED. SO, I had to find a method of moving a window switch to the dash. Oh hai! Use a Jetta rear window switch... brilliant!

4. Jetta rear window switch swap... PAIN IN MY ASA. It has taken me close to four hours of time just to figure this one out. For one, the GTI switch has 6 pins and two resistors, the Jetta has 8 and no resistors. The GTI's door jam wiring loom isn't one of the simple oldschool tunnels that go through the door and the body, it's a twist together coupler and as luck would have it, the wire colors change at the intersection. Wonderful.

So I got it all working last night but when the key was out, both switches, up and down, would cause the windows to go down only. Great. So we got some dinner where I obsessed about the switch through the entire meal and finally got back when it was dark and proceeded to wire the switch all over again by way of cordless shop light. For two hours.

But I got it working so booyeah.

5. plumbed boost gauge.

6. fixed gauge holder and linear actuator that got ruined in the florida sun while down south.

7. attempted to clean up the bay but after popping the hood, looking at the bay for five solid minutes, I shut the hood and went upstairs and surfed the net.

Pics soon.
