Solid rivets will have a better looking exposed head and will eliminate the possibility of coming loose over time that a pop rivets 'could' have. I found this a few weeks ago: http://www.rvproject.com/rivets.html (this guy inspires me to build an airplane). The only problem with using solids is that you need a special tool to install them... The seats already look great though.
